Hi Mike and Welcome!
Since this is your first experience with an Internet forum, I think you will enjoy this site. All web forums are not alike. Some exist just so people can yap while others like this one, actually contain valuable information for movie fans and collectors.
Researching movie props can be a real pain, sites like this make it easy. Plus you often get a chance to own collectibles that would not be advertised elsewhere on the web. There are some true gifted craftsmen of movie props in the world. Forums like this is where you find them.. _________________ -Del |

Mike,
Sorry I missed your name sig at the bottom of your post. Welcome again.
One thing I want to point out to all new members is that there is no pressure to make contributions or to post. All are welcome just for the info and free food . Plus I also hope to any member that is lurking and afraid of their work not being "good enough", that the only way to get better is with the help of others, and all the varied talents on this board. Everybody is able to contribute if they want. If you don't want to that is okay too.
Just have fun, and be carefull trying to sneak expensive props into the house after wanting everything that is on here.

Hello Andy, Del and others,
As I am new to this...I appreciate your comments and insight, thank you, this is good to know, it’s nice to converse and meet the community. Oh... and yes... one big candy store! TOO FUN!
I have always been interested in design and fabrication,
In my younger life i went and got my certification for the film industry because I thought I was going to make props and models but later, followed a carreer in aviation, one influence for my love of flying though, was the spinner, what a concept!
Totally off topic from BR...
I had a great opportunity a few years ago to design and manufacture a smoke system for aircraft in the air show industry. these are built to deliver an injection of oil into the exhaust system of the aircraft igniting and thus producing fluffy white clouds of smoke.
they were fun to design and build and I was pleased with the result, I can always appreciate seeing other peoples work, it's a great way to learn and hone your skills I just wish I could stick one of these in a real spinner
Cheers,
Mike |
