|
|
For those that aren't members of the Clubhouse forum this was posted last night.
Enjoy.
E...
Hello, All:
This is a look at the final wax of my first kit, being produced by Forbidden Zone's talented Michael Allen. The character is Pris, played by Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner, and will hopefully be the first (but not the last) figure I produce from the film. I will post pictures with the base once I have the build-up, but for now, I'l love your comments on the figure itself. Be harsh, I need all the feedback I can get. For those of you who have seen the movie, this is the gymnastic sequence near the end, just before Pris attempts to crush Deckard's skull with her thighs...and for those of you who haven't seen the movie, shame on you.
I would also like to personally thank the intrepid sculptors who helped me through the process of making this thing. To the rest of you, they'd be commonly known as Adam Beane and Mike Falcigno, but to me were "Keep going! Keep going!" and "Dear God, it's done, stop already." And a special thanks to the patient and pragmatic Pat Murphy...he knows why.
At any rate, thanks for looking. I invite any critique, no matter how small! I appreciate all of you taking the time to look at my work. And for those of you going to Louisville, she'll be available in all her Replicant glory at Wonderfest!
Julia

Not sure on scale, judging from the hand I'd say 1/4 or 1/3.
The sculptor said she usually works in 1/2 and 1/1.
Once I find out I'll post it.
Here is a mention about the base.

Tis is amazing sculpt on its own. The anathomy, the movement, the subtle muscles, the proportions, the pose, the finely sculpted clothes.... I'm truly astonished.
The likeness seems a bit elusive for me, but it may be just because of the angle.
Size looks to be 1/4 scale... maybe 1/3 as Division said
My sincerest congratulations and I hope all main characters from BR are produced. I'll be getting one of these for sure! |

Very well done. It does somewhat look like the artist may have chosen some movie reference from the parts when the male gymnast was filling in though Still a whole lot better than the model kit that used to be sold with pretty much the same exact pose. I wonder if sculptors choose this scene because of it's action or less need to sculpt clothes? I sometimes wish someone would sculpt Pris as we first see her at Sebastian's, all punked out and rain soaked.

very nice work! I would suggest you make the hair seperate and have a full bald head as it will not only make things easier to paint but also gives the option of using real hair which this figure would really benefit from. The state of pris's hair in that scene is something that cannot be sculpted imo _________________ "F*ck it, it's just a movie. Let him worry about it" Harrison Ford |

Just confirmed she's 1/4 scale.
Now the sculptor is asking for ideas for the next figure (not Deckard)
So we'll see whats next on the plate.
Both Roy and Rachael have been mentioned so far.

How about Zhora and her snake? I would love to see someone try to recreate the never seen dance. With Nefertiti's hat too.

Nice item indeed, I think I have seen something similar (ebay ?) but Im not sure how detailed it was but Im pretty dang sure I've seen a Pris figure before.
This one looks stunning thou, would love to have one among the collectibles myself.
If the sculpture would make it's way outside the Wonderfest, let me know !! _________________ Nicklas Ingels / Los Angeles, 2019 Webmaster

Styrene Studios did a kit version that could be posed upside down or upright.
Picture from BladeZone and Gary Willoughby
Not nearly as good.

Yeah the figure will be available after WF.
Most producers debut their new kit's there from what I understand.
There is also a Sorayama type figure out as well.
limited run IIRC.

New post started that may interest everyone.
Quote: | Greetings to the Other Side of the Boards!
I am a lowly sculptor seeking the opinion of the rest of the community on which Blade Runner character they'd like to see follow up my most recent piece, Pris (played by Daryll Hannah.) My theory is, you just can't have to many Replicants...but I'm here for YOUR opinon.
Worth noting: yes, I will be doing Deckard, but not next. I have a very specific plan for him, so that is why he's not listed here, but don't worry. He will indeed be on his way at some undisclosed time in the future (insert sinister music.)
Mike Allen will be producing them through Forbidden Zone, and I would like to continue the line with more characters from the film...so give me your two cents, modellers and BR fans. I will be doing a combination of busts and full figures, so if I didn't list your choice, make sure to chime in! Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Julia |
