Hi guys , I must ask for forgiveness as this is probably my first post here. Even though I have joined a little while ago.
I am in the process of finishing up all my props rather than just collecting as it has gone out of hands.
I have stuff in boxes unmade, unopened etc.
I recently came across another blaster for a friend and have gotten me all excited about BR again and the display I want to go with.
I would like however to ask you gurus , if there was a name brand for this blaster and a logo?
example Smith and wesson, beretta etc.
I am interested in doing my sidkit orange handgrips in an ivory look but to incorporate some kind of logo in it.
I did see a member do one in the mini scale blaster and did a fantastic job, but he did not have the logo anymore .
Any one has any ideas , I would appreciate it heaps.
I am not really interested in doing a run or anyhting like that , but if you have any ideas that I could do and you would like a set , I would be more than happy to give you one.......if they turn out good!!!!
thank you guys

Take a look at the extensive pictures in the Worldcon thread. |

The blaster does not really have a brand. The prop was made from parts of two real-world weapons, a Steyr rifle and a Charter Arms pistol.
The rifle receiver still has its markings, so as a result the blaster bears "STEYR-MANNLICHER" lettering on the side and a STEYR logo (obscured by an LED collar) on the ammo clip.
So you could either play into that and put a STEYR marking on the grip, or else go for a more fanciful mark. For example Rick Ross designated his replicas "PKD" after the author Philip K Dick who wrote the story Blade Runner is based on. |

HI again , I would like to show the result of the "Ivory look" grips and the badge .
Mark (STAAR) did the vector file for me of the logo , I then cold casted it in bronze , polished and countersunk it to the grips.
The grips are not painted.

Thank you, the badge can be polished/buffed a lot more showing off the brass shine, I did stop at this as it looks rather old and worn. |

Thank you again, it is a pleasure to share with you guys!!!!
I also had in mind of making a money clip with the badge on it since it is real easy to cast and literally takes no material whatsoever.
I have a BR wallet with the LAPD style badge but the wallet does not allow to insert the notes , nor I feel it would not look right to display the cash notes flat open either.
I was thinking of buying some kind of money clip and sticking the badge.
Then it could be displayed that way, but I cannot seem to find any clips without already having some badge on it.
Again if anyone has any ideas , I would apperciate them also.
Thank you
Mars |

Found your thread at last Mars mate.
Your grips are just too cool and I can't wait to see how they will turn out with an aging job.
I'll keep you all posted on the progress... _________________

Thomas , thank you for the offer!!
If anyone wants one of these little brass badges please let me know , I will not charge anyone as it takes no materials as i said.
I am making these with left over stuff that I cast from my ALIENS props.
Just pay for the stamp and I can send you one.
I am not sure who would want one , and I cannot promise 50 or so a week, lol
but if there is a few of you by all means , let me know.
I wont do the grips , as they are a cast of my sidkit and also I think ALL grips are slightly different , so this you would have to do yourself.
The money clip I thought it would be cool, my Spinner and Phoenix money needs one!!
Thanks guys for the suport and compliments |
