Surely a faithful and masterly crafted replica, but the full size knock offs go for less than that. I wouldn't be surprised if the ones in the movie were not the real thing either. Shocked

If you Google miniature chairs, you'll find repro (usually 1:16 scale) of various known chairs made by architects and designers over the years: Marcel Bruer, MacIntosh, Franck Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Mies Van Der Rohe, etc...All made like the real chairs (wood, chrome, etc) and yes, they are very expensive because of the work involved making (by hand) these miniatures...I guess you could start a collection (some models are already very rare)

All the MacIntosh chairs I saw in my life are now in museums, don't know if somebody actually owns a real one

Impressive price! I've got one more cheaper some months ago.... Not so magnificent, of course, but, as Andy said, at that price I prefer the real thing!

Chair measures 12 cm tall, or 4.8 inches.
The plastic box reads:

That would make it about 1:12 scale then after all. It looked bigger in the pictures (that's what she said Wink )

Quality of my chair is FAR from the offered one, but, of course, price too!

In fact, I have some ideas about the life sized replicas. At same price, a real one chair will be cool. No room for it for now... (neither the money! haha!) but... when finished with my freakroom... maybe... only maybe.... Cost is less than a blaster indeed....

I've seen this in the Addams family and Next Generation.

I'll have to consider this chair(little version) for my next project.

Stumbled across this weird Dune 'making of' feature where towards the end David Lynch is being interviewed in the Argyle chair.

Strange huh?

I remember these in a few movies, including the Adams Family Movie. Many of these may even be the same chair, used from the prop house over and over again.

I would be flabergasted if the studio used real Argyle chairs (then again...you never know). They're all repro. Problems with miniature chairs are numerous but the major one is: lot's of manual labour that makes the cost so high.

I also saw an Argyle at the MOMA in NYC. It was in the modern design area of the museum.
