Haha...too true.
I'm pretty sure there are resin copies made but nothing beats the real thing. |

I don't spend enough time in the costume forum. This is some very cool stuff guys. I have always loved the street cop uniforms. I cannot wait to see them finished.
I was wondering if any of our members were going to DragonCon in costume, a couple of Blade Runner street cops would be killer to see. _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |

Been a while but have made some progress, still heaps to do. Just sprayed the original vest black as a short term substitute, its really only good as a template but adjusted for more length.

Very cool. I love how you made the collar pins. Great idea, reminds me of how they made the badges for the secret cinema event.

Thanks guys.
I really only did half the job on the pins Andy, i forgot to have a mirror image printed out when i got it done.
This would have made a proper "set", will fix it down the track. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Were the Movie ones mirror images? I for some reason recall them being the same.

Love it to bits Tim! You did a great job finding all those parts, making some, transforming others...that uniform rocks big time |

Thanks guys,
Your right about the pins Andy, sometimes i can overthink things.
Will start putting something together propsjonnyb to document everything.
Saw this on google and thought if you add Freds shocktroopers helmet and a few patches, would be a great offworld troopers costume.

A little Fred.
Im having the boot covers made as we speak and i found a retired carpenter who is whipping up the cod piece, i cant use a router.
Building the pulse rifle is taking up all my spare time.
Hows your going, did you find a seamstress yet? _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Can't wait to see what your carpenter did on the cod piece...
I asked about yours because I simply don't have time to work on mine right now, simply too much work... I also must admit I'd like to do a kind of "blueprint" of the uniform prior to sending it to "my" taylor, I think it would be great for her to use this kind of guide with all the details clearly visible as a companion to my blurry photos and/or screencaps.
Fred
PS : There's also the face shield problem, didn't find something that looks like the real thing yet...

Good thinking Fred, i did some basic sketches for the costume outlines and pinned the badges to them so whoever does it gets the scales right.
The face mask is an issue for all of us i think, it is entirely possible that
they were scratch made for the production. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

I rather think it was a found item because, if they had produced it for the film, then whe could reasonably state that all the cops would have worn the same faceshield...
the problem is that there's 2 different faceshields used in those costumes...

Well its been a while but this project is always on the agenda and i think ive finally come across a visor that can be considered very close to screen accurate.
It has the shape required and once its squeezed even more to fit inside the hat, that particular shape will be even more accentuated. Dont have one in my hands yet.
Any thoughts?

Difficult to see the shape without it being secured to the hat, but from what I rembered it seems pretty close |

Radius off the "jaw bone" edge and I think you would have it. It looks a bit closer than mine. I know the ones in the film were pretty egg shaped. Good find.
