Very cool! I wonder what that ship was in the second half of the second video. Concept for the Nostromo? Or something else. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Already saw some of those screentests in one of the ALIEN LEGACY DVD bonus... the gun looks like a retroffited Panzerfaust (= WW2 german anti-tank weapon)... and I think I know what it was meant to be, I'll try to post something soon in another thread where we already talked about it. (must find this thread, now !)

Superjedi, the ship in the test shot is the 5 ft dragon ship model built by Martin Bower, this alien vessel featured in the Space 1999 episode Dragons domain.
The character Tony Cellini and the crew of the Ultraprobe crew find the derelict vessel floating in a space graveyard amongst other alien ships. Once onboard the crew find a hideous creature which proceeds to kill them one by one, he is the only survivor, and returns to earth where no one will believe his story about alien derelicts and a bloodthirsty alien killing his crew? sound a little familar?
Check out the pictures on the space1999.net/catacombs site in the model gallery.

Nice footage, haven't seen all of this before. Is this from the Anthology Blu-Ray?
The actor playing Dallas in the screen test is Ray Hassett, aka Tigran Jamiro/Other Rebel Officer from The Empire Strikes Back. He was a familiar face playing American "authority" types in late 70s/early 80s films shot in the UK. Amongst other roles he was the ill-fated plain-clothes officer who trailed Otis into the train tunnel in the 1978 Superman and got squished by a passing train, and a US navy submarine crew-member from 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me. Apparently he is now a real-life police officer, Lieutenant Ray Hassett of New Haven Police Department, Connecticut. |

Ah! Thanks, Nexus. I do remember that episode very well indeed. It scared me to death watching it when I was a kid!!! _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Same here !
I was also fascinated and shocked by the condition of corpses that thing regurgitated throughout this episode!

I'm more interested in the identity of this guy!
(Second film, 3:03)
Did they tape over someone's home movies?
I CSI'd the image and got this:
How odd. _________________ Mike

That's the original concept for the Alien. It was going to be a used car salesman, but Ridley Scott decided it would be too terrifying, so he went with Giger's design.
