Also wanted to tell any who are interested in the process here...
The mere fact that this is a low temp melting metal seems to alleviate bubbling altogether.
My positives either pour up solid or they look chopped in half, though the latter only seems to happen if I tighten down on the mold too much...something I'm getting better at judging with every pour I make.
Also:
I have recently discovered that my Silicone can handle much higher temps than I had originally thought.
This means that I should be able to properly melt and pour up the less expensive and lighter weight metal I found once I find a higher temp melting pot. |

This is my latest detail for my metal blaster's...Metal Weaver Knobs!
The dark ones are the originals while the lighter colored ones are my cast's.
I have applied the larger one to my Sid-Kit's and the smaller one to my Metal Rick Ross Snub...I lightly buffed the tops with 600 grit (not pictured) and they shined right up...I dare say I think they look great.
More photo's soon. |

Thanks Oldzey!
I'm looking forward to something ELSE being on my work bench for a change OTHER than BR Blaster's...guess I should also mention that the mods on my Sid-Kit are VERY near completion as well, just in time for Halloween! |

I picked up a couple of shoulder holsters similar to Deckard's recently, including one that is small enough to fit a snub. Pics to come soon in a new thread. |

Sounds cool Andy!
I doubt, however, that the small holster would fit my metal snub (if that is what you were suggesting ) and have resigned myself to the idea that I may have to have something custom made...
Hopefully I will have pics up soon to explain this cryptic comment. |

Thats not to say that I wouldn't entertain notions of picking up the small holster from you Andy if you are interested in parting with it!
Either way...I'd love to see it! |

I haven't decided what I am doing with it yet. I am working on a snub as well with metal parts. I guess it depends what you want to trade for it? I am still liking it pretty well though. |

I got a bunch of parts from Rick, and I might have to check to see if I have all those already. I will let you know.

I was wondering when someone would ask that...again. I probably should have stuck with PM'ing on this one.
The answer is NO.
As I've pointed out a few times, I don't sell copies of other peoples work.
My Switch-Plate, weaver Knobs and soon to be finished Butt-Plate are different stories.
Andy is a special case however.
As I have spoken to Rick about his Snub and what I have done with it AND that Rick is COOL with it...not to mention that Andy and Rick are friends, this is a TRADE negotiation and I don't have any worries about Andy recasting any of it....
Also Rick gave me permission to sell metal copies of his stuff if I let him know about it first but I told him it's just too much work so...I'm not really interested.
Thanks for asking! |

I didn't think you were doing anything underhanded! And yeah since Rick seemed to give you his blessing on this I was just wondering and curious after the last couple of psots.
I appreciate you clearing it up . . . again. hahaha.
Thank you.
