I am pretty sure they made them so they can be finished in different ways, unless they are kowtowing to regulations. The last gun could be sanded down to look more like raw metal, and they had video tutorials on how to get the "Worldcon look" and even blue the cold cast resins to a real metal look.

Yes I'm sure you can somehow remove the black plastic-like paint on the receiver, trigger and triggerguard.....

I originally ordered the retailer edition, but changed it to the assembly kit, mainly because shipping of the retailer was $500 to Europe.... But seeing the retailer now, I'm really, really happy I ordered the kit... The retailer doesen't have that masterpiece look you should expect at this price, frankly, to me it looks a bit cheap.

Hopefully my kit will ship sometime soon.... Fingers crossed.

Can you post the links to those tutorials. I think I missed them when originally posted.

Thanks

Got the Assembled Retailer yesterday. The orange grips look great....can be polished if one wants to an even clearer super-transparent finish. The matt black finish is a hard hi-quality finish. Preferred the weathered finish on the WOR-CON TomPRO though. I like the new bullets detailing...better and the new polished butt plate.
There is a Youtube video of the Retailer version posted in Japanese by a fan.

Tomenosuke... Mune from Hollywood-Japan issued a statement to all buyers who received theirs. Apparently the Marushin factory did not provide adequate or the required finish to the "grip ends" (the 'butt plates' I guess they are talking about) ...to Tomenosuke's specifications/quality or something (?).
People who already got theirs will receive in the post a new butt plate with a tool. New, later orders will be rectified however.

Hi Buch. Sorry... I don't know anything about the kits. I have only been following the info on the assembled version. I am sure Mune at Hollywood-Japan could assist you or someone on this Forum may assist with this info.

Hi everybody, any news concerning the kits ?

End August, Mune said they were "almost finished" when I asked him per email. (I didn't get a PayPal invoice yet, but he assured me I was "on the list")

Last I heard from Mune was "next week". That was last week..... Getting somewhat impatient myself....

Thanks for the answer.
I guess there might be some delay... maybe some last minute things ? It's probably difficult to respect a deadline with this type of products.

I haven't been here in a while, but I got the email from Mune this morning and paid for my kit. I've got a perfect .44 spl Bulldog waiting so I can build a live fire version. Can't wait!

Here is the tutorial from Toku-san. as you can see if you reduce the steps of the bluing you can get something much closer to the Worldcon finish.

Looks as if the Picassa web album is gone though Sad. I may ask Toku-san if he will repost it. I also have many of the images myself, and kind of remember some video, but know it could be my memory playing tricks with me.

here are pages of Tomenosuke blaster posts you can scroll through though. (midway for those interested most in this thread...

from the last post...

His later stuff includes the English translations, but the older stuff you might need to use babelfish or google translate for.

Has anyone here been able to faithfully reproduce the glossier blued finish of the original Assembled/finished Tomenosuke Pro?

Thanks
