|
|
Hello!
Im new to these forums, and i found it while doing some research on the above mentioned replica.
As the subject states, im wondering exactly which bits are plastic on this replica? Im pondering purchasing one off ebay, but the seller doesnt answer my questions about this. this is the auction in question: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=220172743801&Category=60361&_trksid=p3907.m29
Im hoping the knowledgeable members on this forum can help me out. Ive did a search, and found some good mod-jobs on this gun, but nothing on which bits are plastic, so this is why i started a thread asking. My apologies in case i bring up an old subject.
Thanks and regards,
grimm |

Most parts are plastic.
Most screws are metal, as is the larger portion of the Steyr barrel and the triggers. Also, the extractor ('star') in the bulldog cylinder is metal, as is it's axle and the pivoting arm (the crane), and the hammer.
Only the rear trigger moves - it pulls back the hammer. At full trigger pull, the hammer releases and strikes a metal pin (part of the Steyr barrel component) to make a snapping sound. The sound is similar to that of a manual staple gun.

BTW...I just noticed that Monsters in Motion is no longer selling it. I wonder if they sold out, or got a C&D? |

Wow, thats a bit on the skimpy side regarding the metal content. I would have figured the cylinder and maybe the bulldog frame. _________________

Thanks for the responses guys. Is it still worth the $200 asking price, considering that ill take it apart, and put it pack together repainted and reworked to get rid of the rattle and such? |

If you're able to machine parts and want to sell sets I'd be down for a set. |
