I took the Worldcon photos in 2006, and I think the first Tomenosuke replica was out by the end of that year. 2007 at the latest I think...

Nobu-san reminds me that the first Tomenosuke blaster was actually released at the end of 2008. The "10th anniversary" refers to the founding of Tomenosuke Shoten itself.

We are proud to present the final incarnation of the Tomenosuke Blaster, the PRO retailer edition. This final version is the most accurate version yet, further refined from previous releases and is offered as a fully assembled, finished replica.
The replica has been further improved and made more accurate in the following areas:
The grip color is correct and the grip frame is perfected
The grip end plate is now the correct shape.
The receiver shape is improved.
The safety area has been made accurate and the gap between the bolt sleeve and receiver has been eliminated.
The laser has been moved closer to the receiver.
The front trigger blade shape is completely redone.
Improved switch cover shape
These detailed improvements make this the most accurate version of this blaster ever offered! Metal and mixed media construction.
No wiggle room. Like I said I have no problem with them making more I just wish they were honest. This statement is not honest and there is no wiggle room. It's fine, no one cares about integrity anymore so what does it matter.

There is "wiggle room". They are the manufacturers and sellers of the Tomenosuke PRO. This gives them selling rights power and marketing power. The Tom PRO retailer is the final version. No more improvements and re-tooling. That is it folks. Of course it does not specifically mean that there won't be anymore TomPROs built. There is still a healthy demand for the blaster, so it is great that they still produce them. There is always something new or different with each new release as well, such as packaging, box details, included extras can differ, grip colour variations, paint job changes etc., plus the very exclusive super-limited ghost and blued versions from time to time. It is a big plus and so great that the Tomenosuke guys still produce them ( each release has a variation from the previous usually which is even cooler). |

The HCG pics look like the receiver is has a matte finish instead of a 'blued metal' finish. Any detailed pics of this version? Is this version for sale now? _________________ "Cut down a tree with a herring? It can't be done..." |

The finish on the receivers has changed from release to release. I believe the new model is going to have a polished, blued receiver. The HCG site still shows the last model they had stocked.

I don't know if it's intentional but the multiple iterations is quite a brilliant move, from a business perspective.
Had they released only a continuous run of one or two versions I would have purchased my blaster(s) early on, as would a number of vigilant aficionados, and be done. Their sales would spike and remaining purchases, at that price would trickle in. Heck, if it was an unlimited run I'd really wouldn't have been in a hurry to get one.
But with a limited run I was prepared to sell a kidney to nab one of their blasters before the run closed. And with each limited version I'm compelled to purchase, yet again.
I started off thinking I'd be content with one Tomenosuke in my collection but I've got three versions now and I'm prepared to get a fourth now. Not that I'm complaining, but they've got me where I live. |

May I say that you are fortunate in that you have that much disposable income. |

My blaster and the HCG stand arrived yesterday. The stand does the job but I plan to return it after discovering other available options like this one from fluxdimensions.

My HCG arrived last week too. Here are a few comparison pixs with the Retail Pro Version (matte finish). The handles are the same, just appear different due to the lighting.

Pierre, yes, that is the HCG one.
Per request, here's the other side (again, HCG on the right);
