Dan's collection is split between Chicago and LA. I've had the privilege is seeing his LA collection (which is the smaller) and its staggering.
Great hi-res image of the hero blaster but after going to all the trouble of shooting it so impeccably, why did they feel the need to desaturate the image it so..? _________________

Would be nice to see the other side..
I believe Karl's pictures take in 2006 show all this detail...and from so many more angles...
And it seems to be ageing...

I guess the main issue is that Karl's magnificent documentation was done prior to the restoration and so the pics don't show the blaster as it is today. if you browse through the complete set of the Tomenosuke images many of them show the blaster post restoration which (aside from the disgraceful wiring) is a far cry from the Worldcon blaster condition.
I have pics I took a couple of months back when I was with Dan and some of them show the other side:
Regards

Nice set of pictures...got any close ups of the left side cover?? Showing the damage??
And as you pointed out Karl's pictures were of the prop some 24 some years after the filming..so it had aged from then. (1982 to 2006)
The Film is the only showing of the prop as it was during filming.

Reading the article I find myself finding fault with their report on the classic phaser.
I believe we (us fans) have found at least three hero phasers in the show.
And I do not really believe they used real Popsicle sticks on the handle just what they did LOOKED like Popsicle sticks.
And sadly they used the poor side of the Phaser in the picture, (This IS my good side Mr. Demill…)
My 2 cents worth…
Sadly such flaws put the rest of what is being said a little in Question…. _________________ I never have enough time to do all I want to do! |
