|
|
Missed the boat on this one and it looks like it will be a red hot item for sometime to come so started thinking about a substitute that wont blow the budget.
After @Buch posted the pictures of the 100% accurate tin he had acquired,
I asked him if I could use them for a project and post them for others and he was more than happy to allow that so a big thanks to Anders.
Here are Buch`s pics cropped down. The pics are ready to be printed out now but if someone cando a little photoshop magic to the front face pic and straighten out
the little bit of lens distortion and then post it here, it will be even better. I found a picture of the inside of the lid online.
Found a great tin locally, still waiting on it. Thanks to Tuckanator for the original dimensions 117mm W x 70mm D x 15mm H
This tin is 5 mm less wide and 5 mm less deep than the original but is a great overall match and in a great condition to work with and only cost $6. Once the blu ray is
out I will start to make the tins overall look more accurate.
ADDITION....
SSB fixed up the main picture and its perfect, many thanks Mike.

Just a test print to see how it turned out. Very happy.

It's looking very good; I would've rounded the corners to make it more vintage-like (that's my 2 cents )...but all in all it fits the look |

I just noticed that the inside image shown for your graphic is very similar but says CAIRO EGYPT. Instead it should only say HAMBURG (at least I think so?). This can also be the difference between the Blue Neptun version and the written one but I am not sure.
Your method is exactly what I wanted to do but for a different type of kyriazi tin. Thanks for giving the heads up on dimensions of the Capstan. Your's is looking nice! |

Its just a test print J and not even stuck on, will round it off and make it
more screen accurate when better pictures are available. The best bit about using prints is that I can age the label to exactly the same as the screen used. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Good spotting, yes that`s not the correct inner label and it doesnt print up well anyway. Will be updating that pic soon. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Started final work on this and will post pictures once done. It was posted as an inspiration to others to get a replica for very little outlay. I think it will more than fulfil that intention. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |
