I thought about getting this set a few summers back but looked into the accuracy and found it wasn't a good set in detail or colour. He obviously has a mold and makes them to order but it's an old mold and not the same as the screen-used set. For example he has kingfisher pawns which is a big giveaway as the screen used set had wrens.
In August last year (2020) the original producer from the 1970's, Hoyles of Oxford, started producing a completely screen accurate set from original models again after many years, so I got one of these and it's incredible. |

I completely had forgotten about that. Thanks for pointing that out! |

I cannot vouch for Hoyles enough.
I bought one of the screen-accurate sets and it was absolutely stunning.
Out of the blue I was contacted by them a little while later, telling me they had reworked some small details in one of the pieces. They asked would I like a pair - to which I have course agreed - it was sent to me, completely free of charge. |

Yes, I also bought a set (#82/100) two weeks ago. "Emily" there is very helpful and friendly.
This being said, I love Rick Ross' "reimagined" red/white variant with the added stuff (box, letter, etc). I was lucky enough to get one set from a member here. |
