Welcome Brad...it's true that StarWars is another type of Science-Fiction, compared to BR, but it's not to be dismissed as a genre and the aftermath on other movies (Sci-Fi mainly) is been felt, even today in terms of special effects and the likes. Wink

First post; this seems as good a place as any.

I've been a member of various prop forums for years and have heard a great many things about Propsummit, so I thought I'd join! I was pleasantly surprised to find an 'Alien' section; I've known this forum as being primarily devoted to BR.

I look forward to reading past and present discussions and, if I have something of value to offer -- joining in.

Welcome zsawevv2122,

You have done a nice job as a necromancer bringing back a bunch of old threads. It is good to see you are looking around though. Not too many people do that, and you can learn a lot that way.

Twisted Evil
Alas, no, I'm neither the devil nor Mick Jagger. My name is Randall; apologies if I neglected to post here first!
I greatly admire, and enjoy, the various film-incarnations of the Original Alien, and of Blade Runner. I'm old enough to have seen Star Wars "A New Hope", and following good, and sometimes great, movies in their Theatrical first-runs. But Alien and Blade Runner are my first loves in the scifi realm of movies.
As some of you know I'm working currently on doing replicas of Ripley's single-scene Engineering jacket; and more ambitiously Brett's Crew Jacket. If I could find the British Aviation jacket in my rather tall size, I'll work on the Dallas/Kane Nostromo jacket.
Bio stuff:I was born in a crossfire hurricane...no wait, that was Jagger. I WAS born in Virginia; but my formative years were spent growing up in London, England. While there a kiddie BBC show had Mark Hamil as a guest, and he brought along some clips of Star Wars AND a prop TIE fighter pilot's helmet, amongst other items. Needsless to say Star Wars was a personal favorite. And then Alien came out and I was hooked on Ridley Scott's and Company brilliant scifi renderings. I bought the Anobile photonovel (still have it). I saw Blade Runner on Opening day, and just loved the film (despite the Studio forced voice-over...) So now that I find myself approaching the age of the Actors, in 1978, of Alien, I am happily increasing my collection of replica items from Blade Runner and Alien; yeah some of them are "off the rack", but where only originals are to be found, I hope to fill out my personal collection of replicas through conversion or just good luck (ebay is like any other machine; it's either a benefit or a hazard...). That is all for now; this Forum rocks!
SPECIAL THANKS to Seth B.'s efforts, and sharing, of his expertise on the Nostromo uniforms!!!

Hello everybody — Jussi from Sweden, here.

Some here will know me from the RPF (same user name). I haven't been active in the prop hobby for many years, but hope to get back into it. I have a collection that needs expanding...
