So how do you think the crew got that rover and 'sky chariot" VTOL out of the garage (the golden room where Brett found the alien's intermediate-stage moltings)?
The VTOL could fly out of a hatch in the side of the ship, but the rover? I figured they deployed such vehicles after landing, maybe via lifts like the personnel lift at the airlock.
Thoughts, anybody? |

Must have been a way to drive it out or it would have been unnassembled I guess. |

Hi,
On the bottom of the Nostromo behind the front landing strut and just left of center-line there is a rather large cargo lift that drops down it is roughly one half the size of the landing gear bay, and has a very large single hydraulic strut mounted center of the lift that drops down to surface level.
the bottom of the platform has large X-reinforcement.
So yes, very much like the lift |

I agree, the hatch at the bottom makes the most sense and takes up less space on the interior.
On the lower levels the exterior hull is at an angle on the sides of the ship so there would need to be quite a big airlock to get the stuff out, so the lower hatch with a lift works best. That way the sky chariot could just taxi into it, be lowered down, then go. |

Hey jtparker:
Could you point me to a photo of what you're talking about? Or is it a shot from the film? I can't find it in any of the stuff I have in my archive...
Thanks! |
