herea a few pics of the basic start of the engine.
Also i have the main body mapped out to match the original blue prints. so i can start to assemble that and then add all the detail parts. as money permits.
the pattern is made out of urethane foam, then shaped and skinned with bondo to smooth it out, then apply primer. once i finish i will make a silicone mold and cast it in epoxy fiberglass.
Thanks for looking.

Welcome to the propsummit!
can you post some pics of this ship so we can see what part this is in reference to the whole ship?
This is the only good ship that came out of the sequels, and It is a very cool design, some of us are not familiar with all angles, and I cannot find any reference pics other than a front shot with the cool engines.
Looks like a great model you have started. Cannot wait to see the progress! |

Heres a few pics of the cone part on the front of the betty. its lathed out of poplar. im going to vac form over it to get the layers needed to make the details. also started on the main body. the betty is comprised of 5 main body sections. im using acrylic skinned with styrene. here the start of the first one. hoping to have most of the main body and the cone done by the end of this weekend.
heres the pics.
thanks Al |

Wooohoo! Sweet!!!
It looks like it will be big enough to do a cool miniature seats and stuff in the bridge, Now that is definitely a ship that looks like it came from the same shipyard as the Nostromo! |

ok got it mounted on its support structure. still need to add some acrylic in the lower section for reinforcement for when i add the wings. also the base is just a temp work base the final will have a better looking one and a metal rod for support.
Thanks Al
