I've seen the auctions for the Spinner before. never noticed the Tyrell one. Looks neat but my experience with assembling garage kit vacformed models has been less than encouraging. Most of that is me and my lack of patience for warpage or ill fit. I hate sanding and using fillers! |

Looks very nice. Rick, you answered some of my questions already. I never assembled any vacformed kits before and I was curious if they suffered from any let downs such as you would find with resin.
Andy, thanks for posting the link. I am sure someone will find it worthy and maybe show off some results
It would be cool to have the pyramid as a back drop for displaying the Blade Runner props, or even as a type of base to display them on....
Thanks!

I liked the idea of lighting them up. I know the detail in vacuumform kits can be lost because it is on the outside of a mold, but they can be a good base to put detail onto and since they are styrene you can kitbash from old modelkits to put the detail on. If I did it I would add tons of strip styrene and cut out the windows with a drill or chisil. You could also etch detail into it easier than resin. I would also cut out the top and have the lights point up to get the searchlight effect. Basicly it would make a cool lamp. |

I saw these kits the other day. They sure do look cool and are at a decent price.
The detail looks great for a vacform kit. They must've done a female mold to such detail.
I hope someone here pics one up and gives a review.

Amish, Don't take my comments as gospel! For instance I had 2 very well done Boba Fett vac-formed forearm guantlets . Right one went together and looked great. Left one drove me nuts to the point I was thinking of having the first life sized Boba Fett with left arm having been cut off by a light saber.
That Tyrell building does look very sharp and detailed. not a bad paint job either. |

A freind of mine purchased one of the Tyrell pyramid kits off Ebay. He said the styrene was very thin and fragile. That explains the crisp detail. To bad they don't offer it in resin form. |

They seem to have stopped listing the pyramid. Probably because of the issues with Vac Forming something that large and deep. |

I was toying withn the idea of getting the vacform kit and resin backing it with a 15 lb urethane foam prior to assemebly. have done that with a few styrene items ( Fett jet-pack)and it sure makes life easier. |

I missed a shot of the building kit, anyone have one lying around? I've used expanding foam to fill the back of vacuform kits as well. |

Gah! I missed that building kit, it looks like it has great potential!!!
Has anyone been able to find another one, or know who the manufacturer is? |

I would just use a lightweight filler to reinforce it. |
