I have a kit too now. So all I need is the time to get at it.

Rick's PKD's are the most gorgeous interpretations of the BR blasters ever made in my opinion, aesthetically pleasing and wonderfully conceived - especially considering the limited information he had at his disposal when he started.

Here's mine with my Worldcon:

nonner242 asked for finished kits. There is an old thread here on the one I picked up at a market years ago. It wasn't in the best condition when I got it but I think it worked out in the end. For what its worth, the thread has some information on how I painted and finished the build which might be useful to some:

Good luck and looking forward to seeing what you guys produce.

Kind regards and cheers

MARK

Starting mine.
Did alittle filling, sanding and drilling so far. Got alot to do still.
I have afew pieces that need major fixing on details like screws/text.
Lots of little nicks and such. Well Im happy it feels alot smoother now.
But we will see how bad it turns out.

Im posting my thoughts on the kit and photo documenting progress...and hick ups. This is my first resin kit so it might be a disaster!
But Im hoping for the best!

My kit arrived this morning, exactly one week to come from Oz to the UK - nice!

On first inspection it looks very nice! none of the wobbly reciever business and to my inexperienced eyes the gripframe looks pretty sturdy...but we'll see about that once it's cleaned up and test fitted I guess.

the only parts that look a bit dubious are the two little switches (selector and catch release?) where the detail is a little bit dodgy. BUT I don't think it's anything a fine file won't fix, and the sight rod is not quite straight. I've read that resin can be heated in hot water and reshaped? anyone corroborate this?

oh and the upper reciever end is very basic, no depth, minimal detail but for that I have a plan Wink

All in all it's a lovely package to open up and I've got no complaints so far!

build thread coming soon!

Respect
P.

Carefull with hot water, you don't have much control once the piece is submerged...hair dryer gives you more control and time to shape the piece.
