I'm sure many of you will have seen my work in Stefan's show and tell.
This is a thread to see if there's an appetite for custom made holsters for other BR universe blasters.
Can people chime in if they would like to see runs of leatherwork for blasters such as the excellent Goldberg Arms models?

I suggested the holster for the snubby to Karl; I thought it would be interesting to explore the issue.
I don't know if people would be in for an ankle holster or just a regular one.
I think that it would be a nice detail to have for other guns as well ( Rick or Dave) |

I'm not familiar with the Hartford Snubby.
Is it the sexy one with the chrome frame, black grips, and medallions?
Do you have any pics?

Thanks Andy,
That looks very nice.
This is certainly do-able.
Honestly though, there hasn't been any response to justify the research, development and pattern making for this project.
If more people don't chime in, I'll assume they don't need holsters.
Bassnoir, if you're interested in a holster for your snubby, drop me a PM?
Cheers,
Karl |

I hear you.
Thanks.
Interested to see if we could have a holster system which fits the different models.
Dave G,
Can you supply the dimensions of yours?
Does anyone have the dimensions for the Hartford Snubby?
Cheers,
Karl |

Cool blaster, and a holster for that snub would be great! Good idea, Andy.
But since it's smaller, I might suggest some variation of the shoulder harness/strap setup, as is common in some noir films of the late 40's and 50's. Or perhaps even something like McQueen had in "BULLITT".

Any interest in a holster for Rick's latest offerings?
A challenge, for sure, but could be pretty cool - especially in some odd color, or faux skin. Just a thought . . .

To be honest, none of them can be more of a challenge than Deckard's holster
All of these are possible.
The big Zhora gun would suit a low slung, thigh mounted tactical style.
I really like the shoulder holster rig idea for the snubby.

Karl -
Of course, what would be the best configuration for the snub might be best left to others, but I liked the idea of the semi-concealed shoulder sling.
As to Zhora's rig, the thigh mount is interesting. I am working on the kit now, with the idea of an slightly exotic approach. Keeping in mind the thought behind P.K.Dick's book, Do Androids Dream . . . and the value of animals - blended with her own limited lifespan, I thought Zhora might acquire a rig that reflected the rare and endangered -

Nice poster there Dave...I always pictured Zohra's holster as something more sleek (shiny vinyl kinda thing and at the left side of the body, reaching for the gun with her right hand)...maybe the snake could be painted (engraved) on the side of the gun or the grips |

I can do exotics.
in fact a have a small stash of genuine python, brown and black skins.
I have a good selection of smaller snakeskins too. All my skins are CITES safe and are responsibly sourced.
Many are antique.

Way ahead of you on that one Joberg, but you're on the right track.
Sounds like we need to have a "proper" discussion. I'll PM you later. Gotta run. Deckard's on my tail.

Karl...forgive my tardiness here...have been out of pocket...did not mean to leave you in the lurch...and thanks Andy for posting the Hartford pix...I also have one of Rick's new build up of Zohra's gun which does have removable scope and silencer...both of which would need their own case...which I would assume to be mighty damn labor intensive and am not quite sure what kind of configuration you could create for THAT...what are your thoughts on how to handle Zhora's gun?...by the way the Hartford Snubbie is a handful and very heavy for a snub... _________________ ...the future is not all it's cracked up to be... |

very interesting....the top version is...I believe...a tad more practical...given the size and weight of the Hartford...the bottom is way more aesthetically pleasing but damn this snub is big...it's basically the full size blaster with a short barrel...it's a big damn gun....not the kind of gun you strap to your ankle as a back up...just sayin.... _________________ ...the future is not all it's cracked up to be... |

I can see it getting very confused, very quickly here
I started threads for the Hartford Snubby holster project and the Zhora holster as well.
Can everyone please bring their ideas, pictures, reference and discussion of each project to it's own thread?
We'll be able to determine design, interest and viability for each more easily.
Thanks,
Karl |
