Thought I should put this in a new topic thread as it no longer pertains to Seth's Build-up. This is the latest up-date to my snubby, boring it out to lighten it up. By the way...I have just purchased more memory at Once-bitten.com so you shouldn't be troubled with Pop-Ups...I did this because I care about your needs Andy! Check out the whole progress here:

awww, thank you
Nice work, I think I have the metal fetish now too.
BTW, I am still having issues with your site. After the page finishes loading it redirects me to another page. I keep hitting the back arrow to finish reading it. |

That's curious Andy...
The new memory should have kicked in by now, if the problem persists let me know will you?
Thanks for taking a look!
More soon I hope. |

Thanks for the interest guys! Hopefully I'll have more pics to post soon.
As for the icons...well,what can I say? A certain seller inspired the red one.

As I mentioned in the other thread, this is not for sale and I have no plans of creating duplicates for anyone other than myself.
I feel wierd enough about re-casting someone elses work as it is...but I would certainly NEVER try to SELL re-casts.
Also...I'm more than willing to share info on how this is done as I know there aren't many texts out there on mold making and fewer still on pouring metal. |

I say talk to Rick,
I am sure he would be willing to work with you, as long as you weren't putting up 10 a day on Ebay. He has given his permission to recast off of his stuff before. I know I would do just about anything for a metal PKD-1 |

Hi Once-Bitten,
Very interested in one of your all-diamond snub kits.
I will pay you the equivalent of one (1) dollar. . . all in the giant stone coins of the Yap Islanders.
Please let me know an address where I can send the money.

Naw...I don't mean to be mean here...just wish people would read the WHOLE thread and not just the juicy bits.
More soon. |

WOW!
I had a terrific conversation with Rick Ross today!
Yeah, that's right...we actually talked on the phone and shared alot of thoughts about BR, prop-making and our lives in general.
We both came to the conclusion that neither of us has the time or resources to commit to an ALL METAL SNUB project right now...though we also both agreed that the future is uncertain and you can never really be certain WHAT may happen...
I also went ahead and committed to the purchase of one of his BR Magnum Kits and one of his PKD-I kits when he has them ready to go, which I am very excited about as well!
All in all it was a great conversation and I might go so far as to say I feel as though I made a new friend today...I certainly have a better understanding of the trials and tribulations that one must go through in order to recreate an object of interest and passion from BR.

Aw shucks guys! You're too kind. I'm just a "joe" who likes a good film and a cool prop.
Thank you Paul for indulging my, sometimes, talkative nature and tendency to get lost in the world of tangents. Andy can tell you a thing or two about that. I enjoyed our talk.

I was a bit concerned that I may have talked your head off...
It was a very refreshing conversation especially considering some I have had in the past with other kit makers...NUFF SAID.
Hey Rick, not sure I answered your questions concerning bubbling...
I forgot to mention that I do give the mold a bump or two as it gets full, this tends to alieviate any bubbling in the positive. I also found out with the first mold I did that the pour channels (Sprues)can be a little bigger than you would think and with the talcum added this gives all the breathing space the mold needs to fill in all the spaces...as long as you have picked a good spot to put your pouring spout(which you did on the original so I followed suit).
Hope you are both well!
Now about my Magnum Kit order...
Let me know Rick!
