With tabbed browsing, a smoother scheme, and some nifty tools, I think IE7 has gotten pretty close to hitting the nail on the head!
While many lay claim that firefox, opera and other browsers are superior to the IE family, I have always stuck with IE for its familiarity. I have downloaded and used the previous browser but have always come back to IE.
With IE7, microsoft seems to have reinvented itself to compete with the independant browsers now being offered. I find the new incarnation very easy to use, and actually fun.
I hope that some here will give this a try. While it is still in the Beta stages, it is very stable and easy to use. You can get it here:

Thanks for reminding me about this again! I had intended to dl this a couple of weeks back but forgot about it until I tried it at the 'rents house yesterday.
I thought Firefox was a great browser until it started acting really funny with my links and password associations, so I switched back to IE.
Tabbed browsing, here I come again!

I've got just about everyone in my office switched to Firefox. Then the parent company re-writes all our websites to be only IE-compatible. I'll end up downloading it to see if it's all it's cracked up to be.
But otherwise, I think MS should probably end development on IE. There are 1,001 web browsers now; if they truly want to innovate, they should try something else. |
